:DOUBLE GOLD WORLD CUP:

An awesome weekend for the Canadian Canoe Kayak Team has transpired here in Szeged, Hungary over the past few days. World Cup #1 is now complete, Team Canada earned 6 medallions for their excellent performances, and a bunch of other great top 6 finishes across all three disciplines.

My races were all great, I managed to win both the K1 1000m and 500m finals, my 17th and 18th career World Cup gold medals. Congrats to Tom Hall for his Bronze in C1 1000m, Richard Dober Jr. and Andrew Willows for their Gold in K2 200m and Bronze in K2 500m (these boys are QUICK!). Congrats to Gabriel Beauschesne-Sevigny and Andrew Russell, for their Bronze in C2 200m and 4th in C2 500m, Congrats to Mark Oldershaw for his two 4th place finishes in C1 1000m and 500m, and congrats to everyone who qualified for the Olympic Games!!

Off to Germany we go, we're packing up the muletrain with all our boats and paddles... thanks to NELO for their superfast boats!

!!WORLD CUP WIN!!

I had an awesome race today in the 1000m K1, winning on a rainy, windy day with a half decent time of 3:32... My great friends Eirik Veraas Larsen and Tim Brabants were a really close second and third, respectively. We were all within less than a boat-length at the line, thanks for a wicked race guys! Got some 500m races tomorrow... Check Back for results!
