.:CANADIAN TEAM QUALIFICATION:.

At the Pan American Olympic Qualifier in Montreal this past weekend, the Canadian Canoe and Kayak Team made history by qualifying all 12 boats for the Olympic Games!! Some incredible performances, in men's K4, K2, C1 and C2 and women's K1, K2 and K4 ensures that Canada will be sending a full team to Beijing.

Way to go team!

.:QUALIFIED FOR BEIJING:.

Our team's official Olympic Trials were in Gainesville, Georgia last weekend; the same venue as the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. I won both the K1 1000m and 500m, which fully qualifies me for Beijing! Racing felt good, but there is clearly some serious work to be done over the next 100 days or so (our events don't start until the second week, day-counters!)...

Best of luck to all of the Canadians racing in Montreal at the continental qualifiers next week!

In other news, I was up in Algonquin Park for the past two nights, paddling on Canadas nicest (but still VERY cold) lakes, and getting some photos done for ROOTS, and their Canada Day line.
