::Le Temple-sur-Lot, France Le Training Camp::

Check Coach Luce's videographing skills out right here.  Been laying the smack down on the Lot river hard over here in Southern France.  There's not much else going on here in Le Temple, we're staying in Castelmoron-sur-Lot, at this sweet little Dutch BnB shown above.  Now that it's Saturday afternoon I'm calling it a week. My first 5 sessions with Mr. Corey Hamilton in Oakville at the great Burloak Canoe Club this week were really good (thanks bud, follow Chamilton on twitter he's brand spankin' and a truck-guy, finally), followed up by 4 great paddles, two brisk runs and some gym this afternoon here at Larry Cain's (and everyone else's) favourite European Training Location... that's a wrap 2nd last full training week before Worlds. Solid.

Check back soon for some more videoooos....

::CREEK TRAININ'::

3 weeks to go until the World Champs...

Training has been going very well.  Hammered out two great weeks with "the Viking" Anders Gustafsson in Montreal at the Olympic Basin, and a few days in Algonquin Park on my way home to Toronto.  I'm leaving for Le Temple sur Lot, France on Wed Aug to tune up for the World Championships, which are in Poznan, Poland from Aug 19-22nd.  I'm racing K1 1000m, and 500m...

Here's a video of a little bit of the session this morning.  It's been rainy so the Creek resembles Chocolate Milk (according to Ian Mortimer), but check out Scott O's contribution to the workout with his last 100m blast.  Scotty O's got wheels.

And my new K1!  Designed by Jordan van Veen (BURLOAK) and Erika Timoshenko (LACHINE), tweaked and squeaked by Daniela (NELO)... Thanks for your help, I'll make it go really fast!!

Then a photo of an Algonquin Park sunrise, since I'm such a sap.

Check back soon!

::DUISBURG... WORLDCUP 2010::

World Cup season 2010 is now over... I've raced 4 regattas over 5 weekends in a row so I am exhausted.  My fatigue showed a little bit in my final race today, the K1 500m, usually my strongest event I just couldn't get off the line today.  BIG CONGRATS to Angus Mortimer for finishing his World Cup campaign strong, keeping Canada on the Podium with his first ever World Cup Podium today, with a Bronze in the 500m.  Nice Work Goose!!

I finish the 2010 World Cup season with 6 medals... 2 Gold (Szeged 500m, 5000m), 3 Silver (Vichy 500m, Szeged 1000m, Duisburg 1000m) and 1 Bronze (Vichy 1000m).  The goal of this trip was to simply race hard and identify weaknesses with a focus on the World Champions in August, and of course secure my spot for the World Championships.  I feel great about my performances, and I'm stoked for Team Canada as we've had so many great performances over the past few weeks here in Europe.

I can't wait to get home tomorrow... it's been a while!
